Home health ( Arrow Root)

There is another type of root called arrow root also good in it raw form. This root is something that is cultivated rather than found in the wild woodland. It looks like carrot with the color of a turnip and when processed you mix it and drink it.

When you mix it, it is similar to  like when you are mixing a cup of drinking chocolate, like when you mix it in the bottom of the cup with a little sugar except a drop of water is added to get a fine paste before poring on the hot water. 

It has a thick pleasant taste. It is said mothers give this order-less drink to their babies if they weren't eating well to build up their system. 


To prepare the arrow root it is first striped of it's brittle skin, a bit like though's easy peel potatoes.


It is so efficient in its raw form you can eat it raw like a carrot.


Roots has always been a symbol of
strength. Its a wonder  they grow the as long as the vine or branches.
It is washed and then chopped, then placed in a bowl with water. Once washed and chopped and placed in a bowl it is blended with around 1 cup full of chopped arrow root to 1-1 and 1/2 cups of water. Once you have blended all the arrow root add more water to the milky substance.

 The blended arrow root is added to more water so it is not saggy in the water but completely emerged in water. When it is completely blended it is squeezed through a sieve and trash, not the water is discarded. The discarded trash can also be beaten into flower if you don't mind the bother, but for now we just want the powder. 
The water that was left after the squeezed is then left in a bowl and left for a few hours to settle.
When it has settled the powdery starch will sink to the bottom of the bowl after that you pour off the water off the top. 

This may not look like a lot but you will soon see  it is very concentrated as you will only need just enough for a cup a.  Try not to make it too thick other wise it will form a jelly.

Once the water is poured off it is stirred up and place in the sun to be sun dried. You can then place it in a sealed bag or jar for storage.

This supplement will start you off eating foods that have plenty of vitamins, minerals and fibre. It will help you lay off the fatty and excess sugary foods. You want to eat foods that have a high nutrient density to kept fit especially when you are on a diet.  

Eat at least five portions  of fruits and vegetables a day along with protein and iron rich foods like dried fruit, and green vegetables and you will notice a great improvement.
